Woke up today still inspired by the Playlist Retreat family!

I got to officially meet one of my favorite emcees of all time Redman !! 🤯 

I became a fan of Redman straight off his verse on EPMD's "Hardcore" back in like 90'. When Whut Thee Album? dropped, I was a fan forever. Redman inspired and influenced ALOT of rappers, including myself when I started rhyming back in 93'. My favorite Redman album is Muddy Waters cause I know for a fact I let my tape rock til my tape popped! Man I'm THANKFUL that I got the space and time to meet this brotha.

At Playlist Retreat, all the attendees are assigned to a trailer that you share with other artists. This year I was blessed to share a trailer with Redman. Red is as cool as you think he is. I introduced myself and the first thing he said was "Wait your name is 14KT? Jazzy Jeff told me that you were one of the guys I should meet". WOW! I guess Jeff was secretly connect us.

In this moment, Redman and I were the only ones in the trailer, so I got tell him I appreciated him and his music for what it did for me. I also asked Redman if I could play some of my beats for him. He said sure! I played like 9-10 joints for him. He was vibing to a couple of them so I sent them to him.

I can only wish to be able to work with Redman one day, but if I get the chance, ima make it count!! Thank you brotha DJ Jazzy Jeff once again for making the time and space for thi moment to happen. 

Shout out to the LEGENDS Redman, DJ OGee (D.I.T.C), Atrak and Gwen Bunn who were all in a group together this year. The joint they made was dopeness.
